Nigerian female disc jockey, Florence Otedola, better known as DJ Cuppy, has reminisced on her broken romantic relationship with British ex-fiancé, Ryan Taylor.

Naija News reports that the relationship between DJ Cuppy and the British boxer was always a topic of discussion online until their sudden split a few months after being engaged.

After breaking off their engagement, Ryan made a jest announcement on Instagram, stating he left all his ex-girlfriends due to their driving skills.

However, in a post via her X handle on Thursday, Cuppy said people do not really need to check Spotify’s annual chart for the most-played songs this year because it was her heart.

She wrote: “Meanwhile, you don’t have to check Spotify; my heart was the most played this year.”

I Failed In My Relationship, Almost Failed At Oxford University

Meanwhile, DJ Cuppy, has revealed she almost failed her master’s programme at the University of Oxford.

Naija News recalls that the billionaire’s daughter revealed in March 2021 that she had been accepted into Oxford for a master’s degree in African Studies and graduated in 2022.

Speaking at a recent event, in the video making the rounds online, DJ Cuppy said there is power in uncertainties and failure, stressing that even the biggest and most successful women experience failure.

She noted that her life has been unpredictable despite being from a privileged background.

Cuppy recounted how a jewelry line she established at age 28 failed, almost failed at Oxford University, and failed in her relationship with British boxer, Ryan Taylor.

Nigerian Musician, Naira Marley Demands N500Million, Public Apology From Actress Iyabo Ojo Over Alleged Defamation, Threatens Lawsuit

Naira Marley, who has recently been in the news for the wrong reasons, was detained by the Nigeria Police Force, Lagos State Command over the death of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

Nigerian musician, Afeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has demanded the sum of N500 million and a public apology from Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo for the alleged dissemination of false and defamatory information about him on her Instagram account.

Naira Marley, who has recently been in the news for the wrong reasons, was detained by the Nigeria Police Force, Lagos State Command over the death of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

In a letter posted on his Instagram page, he threatened to sue the actress if she failed to meet his demand.

Naira Marley in a letter sent to Iyabo through his lawyer, Olalekan Ojo, accused the actress of making an Instagram post in September 2023, accusing him of engaging in spiritual and physical dealings with Mohbad.

According to him, the actress accused him of causing mental harm to Mohbad.The letter which Naira Marley reads, “In the last few days, there has been a lot of onslaught on my person and reputation globally over the death of my former signee.

“All manner of stories has been woven against me in respect of his untimely death. I have not only been in shock over the death of the deceased whom I considered to be my brother and member of our music family, but over the various lies spread and threats against me.

“Before I progress further, let me say that as it is traumatic for a lot of people to bear the reality of ller's death, so it is to me. May his gentle soul continue to rest in peace and may God grant his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

“Permit me to categorically state that I have no hand in the death of Ilerioluwa, either directly or indirectly. It is not unusual in the industry, just like in several other industries to have family friction, even amongst blood relatives.

“Truly, we had our own share of misunderstandings whilst working together, but the disagreement between us was never to the extent being painted by some hirelings. It never degenerated to the extent of wishing each other death. Even at that, we were resolving our business disputes legally before he had passed.

“I have chosen not to say anything since due to being distraught over his death and in order not to jeopardize the investigation being carried out by the government agencies.

“In addition, I have been out of the country since the 31st of August, 2023 and I'm yet to return. In light of the police invitation, I am making arrangements to return to the country to assist the investigation and give my version of the events. I am fully cooperating with the Police team and I certainly have no reason to be a fugitive when I have no hand in his death.

“I am certain that the culprit behind his death and has a vendetta against me and are fueling public opinions to have me lynched for reasons known to them. In due time the circumstances surrounding Mohbad's death will be unveiled and the world will know the truth.

“This kind of scenario of attempting to set someone up is not novel in the industry as other great musicians have experienced the same and came out better and stronger. Mine will not be an exception as I am innocent of the accusations.

“Mohbad left the label in September 2022, the label accepted his departure. Marlian Music did not stop or interfere with his career or releases since and he has been with oneRPM. Legal efforts were made to reconcile his concerns regarding the work we had done together.

“The rumors regarding the label being a drug cartel are untrue. I am not a drug lord, neither do I Marley belong to any cult or fraternity. I'm dedicated to proving my innocence and I'm cooperating with the authorities to clear my name with sufficient evidence.

“Marlian Music is an independent label run by a small intimate team. We run a legitimate label that focuses on championing exceptional talent, breaking new acts and nurturing them.

“I will like to clearly state that I have never fought or attacked Mohbad. For the avoidance of doubt I have never instructed anyone, friend, known associates or fans to attack, bully or harass Mohbad. With regards to the talent on the label, none of our artists ever fought or mistreated Mohbad.

“I share my deepest condolences to the family. Let's be mindful as we seek justice to focus on supporting the police and authorities with relevant information and evidence surrounding his death so that those responsible will be apprehended. I am positive that at the end of the day. the truth will prevail and I shall be exonerated.

“My lawyers are already in touch with the police and government agencies and will support in every way necessary.

“Without a doubt, I will honor his memory and I promise to do right by him and his family.”

Nigerians will be paying higher prices to watch their favourite shows during the holiday seasons on DSTV and GOTV Multichoice has decided to increase prices for all their packages on DSTV and GOTV by 20% The changes come as the company reports a massive $72m loss in its financial statement in the third quarter 

Multichoice, the parent company of Digital Satellite Television (DSTV) and Go Television (GOTV), recently announced price review. The reviewed price list showed a 20% hike in the company’s packages and kicked off on November 6, 2023. 

The source quoted said: "Yes. We have increased our rates. We buy content in dollars but earn in naira. If we take off a channel or stop acquiring content that our customers are used to, we will be slammed. “We buy diesel. We pay taxes. Even before this year, with the dollar and fuel subsidy removal. We pay billions in licensing fees. We operate several offices. We have to pay staff.”

SO SAD WOMAN DEMANDING JUSTICE FOR HER TWINS BABIES

A set of twins aged only five days were tragically burnt to death at General Hospital, Ikorodu, Lagos, allegedly due to negligence by the medical staff.

Mrs. Abigail Bankole (alias Iya Ibeji) gave birth to Taiwo (a boy) and Kehinde (a girl) at General Hospital, Ikorodu, on October 3, 2023 and took them home upon their discharge four days later. However, she took them back to the hospital the next day upon discovering that the babies had jaundice.

 “Upon test and confirmation of the suspected jaundice, the doctor recommended the babies be placed under the blue light for correction and treatment while they still await further inquiries from the laboratory.

“Before the babies were taken into the blue light, the mother was asked to feed the babies which she did and the babies were doing very well before they were taken into the blue light.

 After about an hour, one of the nurses on duty came to increase the light and left, but the mother of the babies felt, at the level of the room temperature, the light was too high and she immediately called the attention of the nurses, but the nurses vehemently declined the call and told her it was their job and they know what they were doing. 

The mother went again about eight times to call the nurses and they still ignored her, they later called her insane and told her, she was not okay as she aggressively raised the alarm and as a result, she started bleeding from the spot where she had the C-section of the babies due to the heat from the blue light room while she stood to watch the babies.

“All the while she kept calling on the nurses, the babies were crying and Kehinde was already bringing out foam from her mouth while she painfully watched the babies and she and another family member that was by the door could not do anything due to the restrictions and attitude of the staff.

“At the time the babies were brought out, they were burnt and already turned black, even while she held the babies, their skin peels.
